Stephanie Michelle, RD
I'm so glad you're here. My name is Stephanie and I'm a Holistic Dietitian Nutritionist and Eating Psychology Coach. I practice locally in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, but also have a virtual distance practice that allows me to work with anyone dedicated to healing their relationship with food, taking back their health, and ultimately transforming their life.
Like many others, my passion for this field was born out of my own challenges with food, body, and health. Disordered eating and body image challenges overwhelmed my mind and body for over a decade, and further led to gut dysfunction, skin challenges, and chronic fatigue. After failing to find solutions through conventional medicine approaches, I embarked on a holistic journey of self-discovery that now inspires the work I do with others. My approach combines holistic nutrition and counseling with mind-body practices that address all of who you are in mind, body, heart, and soul.
Please reach out if you have questions or comments about how this work may benefit you.

My Food Philosophy
Food is life. And eating is the ultimate act of self-care. Every time we eat, we are choosing to live. Nutrition doesn't have to be complicated. And food doesn't have to be counted. The way we eat doesn't have to be labeled. And what we eat doesn't have to stay consistent. We can eat when we're hungry. And we can eat foods we love. We are all individuals with our own body blueprint. And our brilliant bodies know more about our nutritional needs than any expert. Our health responds best when we listen to our intuition and the genius of our own body-wisdom. So listen to your body. Eat the foods you truly want. Eat them slowly. And savor every bite.
My Body-Image Philosophy
All bodies are beautiful. And those who think otherwise have simply been conditioned to do so. Body size does not predict health outcomes. And good health comes in all sizes. Body fat is not ugly. And those who have more of it are not weak. Bodies are not ornaments, but sacred vessels carrying the essence of who we are. Bodies are temporary. And body size does not have to be static. All humans deserve to be at peace with their bodies. So today, take one step toward a more compassionate relationship with your body. Acknowledge its imperfections in a caring way. And revel in your body's uniqueness. There is no other body like your body. And it is perfect as it is, right now.
What I do
My work acknowledges that healing your relationship with food is about so much more than food. My methods introduce balanced wellness strategies that work to untangle the reasons why you haven't been able to get where you want to go. Ready to Get Started?
Every individual I work with reignites the passion I have for this work in their own unique way. I'm continually humbled by the shifts I witness in the people I connect with, and I learn something new from them every day. The healing journey you embark on when we connect is a collaborative relationship that involves a committed dedication from both of us. As someone who can personally relate to your challenges with food and body, I understand the depths of the struggle. I get so much joy out of being able to guide others out of this darkness, and back into a positive and nourishing relationship with food and self. Never give up on yourself and your unique journey to health and happiness. I look forward to hearing from you!
About Love and Real Food
This site is a true labor of love as I attempt to share what I've meticulously studied and learned over the last decade. You will find endless nuggets of information on all things pertinent to mindful and intuitive eating, ending diet consciousness, working toward authentic body acceptance, my opinions and insights into the mind and soul as they relate to our health, and a touch of artistic expression in what has also become a creative outlet for my own story.
I am first and foremost a nutritionist and health coach grounded in science and literature, but I believe in the freedom of expression and individual interpretation. In the end, I gave up on the notion that I would find a book or resource that would fix me and I let myself become an experiment of one. In the pursuit of good health I encourage you to do the same. Never stop reading, learning, and growing. But at the end of the day, listen most closely to the messages coming from your own brilliant body, your expert intuition, and your whole heart.
